RGBAs the first meeting of the Rent Guidelines Board is just two days away, this Thursday, April 7th, Mayor de Blasio sure waited until the last minute to assign the chairperson to the group. In addition to the chairperson, he also appointed a member who represents owners interests, that category comprised of two members in total. This sums up the article published by The Real Deal.

If you are a rent-stabilized tenant and you want to contribute to the cause of pushing for a rent rollback or a rent freeze this year, please go to the press conference held by the Rent Justice Coalition (made up of tenants, community groups, tenants rights groups), along with the elected officials that back their cause. This takes place this Thursday, April 7th at 1 Centre Street, also known as the David N. Dinkins Municipal Building. Everyone will be there at 8:30 a.m. by the steps and columns (they’re huge, you can’t miss them) of the building. To get there you can take the 4/5/6 to Brooklyn Bridge-City Hall, the R to City Hall, the 2/3 to Park Place, or the J/Z to Chambers Street. This is followed by the first meeting of the Rent Guidelines Board, which will be held on the 9th floor of 1 Centre Street in the Landmarks Preservation Commission Conference Room. The meeting will start at 9:30 a.m. and is open to the general public. If you wish to attend the meeting, please note you will need to go through a security checkpoint, so please bring your photo ID.
